Thyroid Disorders

Thyroid Disorders are broadly classified into two types – Hyperthyroidism and Hypothyroidism.

The major function of your thyroid gland is to maintain your body’s metabolism and digestion. Thus, a person with Hyperthyroidism (over active thyroid gland ) will be underweight and lean, where as a person with hypothyroidism (under active thyroid gland) will be overweight and have excessive fat.

In both cases, your body’s digestion and metabolism suffers to a great extent. These days, Hypothyroidism because of lifestyle factors is more common.
